Recoveries
Recovered vehicles are sold at auction and usually achieve a trade value, rather than the retail price you might see advertised at a dealership.
This is because dealerships may repair, prepare and advertise a vehicle before selling it on.
To value vehicles fairly, we use:
NAMA grading, which assesses the vehicle's age, mileage and condition.
CAP (Current Auction Price) market data, which provides industry-standard vehicle valuations based on current market activity.
These are used to set a reserve price before the vehicle goes to auction.
If bids don't reach the reserve price, they're reviewed before a decision is made. The vehicle may also be entered into further auctions to achieve the best outcome. If the reserve price is met or exceeded, the vehicle is sold to the highest bidder.
